Tony Pulis has reaffirmed his commitment to West Brom and is ready to move on from the tension of the transfer window.

Pulis' position was the subject of widespread newspaper speculation after Albion reportedly failed to deliver his demands for new arrivals.

Chairman John Williams defended the club's dealings in a statement which claimed "Tony wanted five and we got five" and made a reference to the manager's "selective and particular" approach to recruitment.

This week newspaper reports claimed Roy Hodgson was being lined up in case Pulis walked away, but speaking ahead of Saturday's trip to Bournemouth the Baggies boss said: "You asked me the question a couple of weeks ago and the answer's the same: I don't plan on going anywhere.

"Obviously you're going to ask about the statement that the club made or what John said. The five players John  said I was happy with, they were not the marquee signings I wanted to bring in. And that's for all sorts of reasons - it's nobody's fault.

"To try and say they were the five I wanted, that's wrong. I've spoken to John about it and I think he accepts that.

"People are going to talk and have every right to discuss it and make their own conclusions. To try and bluff and blag your way through something that went on...I'm not for that."

Pulis did break West Brom's transfer record to bring in forward Nacer Chadli from Tottenham, while Hal Robson-Kanu, Allan Nyom, Matt Phillips and Brendan Galloway also arrived.
"We've got players in and now everything has to be batted down and we have to get on with it," Pulis said. "Everybody has got to get together now. We've got four or five months now to get as many points as we can.

"This club is very different to any other I've been at. It's a more continental experience and I want to get through it. Some things I enjoy and some things I don't enjoy.

"I think there's been enough said and nonsense spoken. All the stories and rumours and speculation that was built up, 90 per cent of it is absolute nonsense. I'm pleased the window is closed and we can all concentrate on the results and the performances of the players."

Another transfer window passed without a move materialising for Saido Berahino, who was targeted by Stoke this summer and Spurs back in January.

The striker is yet to score this season and Pulis said: "Saido now has a point to prove. He needs to score goals. He now has the chance to prove to people he can do that.

"He has to concentrate on playing football for this club. He's had people in his ear again, and to be honest he hasn't been the same since Tottenham came in for him."
