Danny Ings opened the scoring for Liverpool U23s as they overwhelmed their Leicester City counterparts 4-0 on Sunday.

Liverpool's youth side followed up on their senior side's emphatic 4-1 victory over Leicester a day before, with Jurgen Klopp at Prenton Park to witness the victory.

It took Ings just three minutes to open the scoring for Liverpool, with the 24-year-old tapping in from Ben Woodburn's cross.

Woodburn then grabbed Liverpool's second after a fine team move.

Captain Harry Wilson got onto the scoresheet after picking up on a loose ball, before grabbing an assist for their fourth, with Ovie Ejaria heading home.

No goals followed after the break, but Klopp will have been impressed with what he saw from the U23 side.

Tiago Ilori was denied netting Liverpool's fifth, while Pedro Chirivella hit the post for Michael Beale's side.
