Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri says he is hopeful key midfielder Danny Drinkwater will be fit for Saturday's trip to Chelsea.
The 26-year-old was unavailable for England's World Cup Qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia due to a groin injury, but has spent the international break recovering and has now resumed training.
Ranieri says he will check on Drinkwater on Friday, with a view to including him in the squad for Stamford Bridge.
Speaking at his Thursday press conference, Ranieri said: "It was a little problem with the groin but I hope tomorrow, I speak with the doctor, and he will be OK.
"Today he trained well and now I want to wait to see if it is OK tomorrow. If the response is OK, it's OK. If no, then I say I be careful."
Nampalys Mendy has been on the sidelines since he limped off against Arsenal on August 20, and is not likely to be fit enough to return for another week.
"He came back and then after half an hour he left the game," said Ranieri.
"He has a little problem with his ankle. He is fit but just a little twist again and the pain is very strong. I say yes, he may be fit next week, but we will see."
The 12 Leicester players who were away on international duty have all returned to the club unscathed, leaving Ranieri with selection issues to mull over ahead of two big games in four days.
"They are all back fortunately, the last this morning," said Ranieri. "But all the clubs have the same problem and now we have to see who has recovered well and then I choose.
"With the Champions League against Copenhagen on Tuesday, I must see who plays and decide."
