Guillem Balague and Graham Hunter review the weekend’s La Liga action as the top four shared 20 goals between them.
Lionel Messi took just three minutes to score on his return from injury as Barcelona swept past Deportivo la Coruna 4-0. However, the Catalan giants are still two points behind Atletico and Real Madrid in the La Liga standings.
Atletico put on an attacking masterclass to stuff Granada 7-1 in a match where Granada had taken the lead. Yannick Carrasco grabbed a hat-trick in the victory.
There was goals also for Real Madrid as they notched four first-half goals in their 6-1 thrashing of Real Betis.
"When we play with the intensity required it makes it very difficult for the opponent," said Zinedine Zidane.
"We have worked on that, but we need to be consistent. This match is a reference point."
