Liverpool travel to Everton for a mouth-watering Merseyside derby on Monday Night Football - but will the game match the 2001 thriller between the teams?

That strike capped a frantic clash, which included two penalties and a sending off.

Following a pre-game minute's silence to mark the 12th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, Emile Heskey put Liverpool ahead after just four minutes, firing home from the edge of the box.

Duncan Ferguson cancelled that effort out just before half-time but Liverpool were ahead again on 57 minutes when Markus Babbel pounced on a loose ball.

They should have extended that advantage moments later, too, but Robbie Fowler failed to capitalise on a generous penalty decision awarded when he went down under Richard Gough's challenge. The striker cannoned his spot-kick against the woodwork.

Liverpool were reduced to 10 men on 76 minutes when Igor Biscan picked up a second yellow for bringing down David Unsworth and the Everton defender converted a controversial spot-kick five minutes later to level the scores.
