Former Milan, Monaco and Rangers striker Mark Hateley chooses his #One2Eleven on The Fantasy Football Club.

The former England international had a plethora of talent to choose from, having also made 32 appearances for his country, and he puts together a very strong XI.

Hateley, joining The Fantasy Football Club ahead of the New Year's Eve clash between Rangers and Celtic - live on Sky Sports - has gone with a 4-4-2 formation. Here's who makes his XI...

He's the guy that typifies for me everything a goalie should have. At 5ft 11 he wasn't the biggest, he'll say he's 6ft 1 but he's not!  Brave as an ox, a great shot-stopper and he'd claim everything whether it was his or not.

Away from the field he was absolutely brilliant with a heart as big as a bucket and he would do anything for you.

RIGHT-BACK: Mauro Tassotti

It's a really tough one because I've played in some decent teams that had some great defences, but I've gone for my Milan back four - one of the greatest Italian back fours of all time.

You knew what you were getting from Mauro. Tough as anything, a great defender and didn't venture further than his own halfway line!

Also See:

CENTRE-BACK: Franco Baresi

He was captain at a very early age at Milan and until he retired when he was 37. A great guy on the field, totally dominant in everything he had to do with the ball and as fast as anybody I've ever seen.

CENTRE-BACK: Alessandro Costacurta

Another young player at Milan when I joined. He loved himself and was always in front of the mirror combing his hair, as we did when we had it! He just fitted in absolutely fantastically.

LEFT-BACK: Paolo Maldini

He was 16 I think when he started to join the first team [at Milan]. He wanted to be a centre half, but obviously wasn't going to get into that position at that moment. But I think the rest is history because when you look at him at left-back he played well and stayed there. A tremendous servant and a great guy.

RIGHT-MIDFIELD: Brian Laudrup

Had a similar career to me as a young player as he had a couple of years here and there. Then he came to Rangers and found a home, and it nurtured him into a great player.

He was spectacular on the ball and he'd beat players for fun. It was a pleasure to play with him.

LEFT-MIDFIELD: John Barnes

I played with him at England, in the great game and my first game against Brazil in the Maracana when he scored that little tap-in! It started something special for both of us that day. He was a great guy and a great technician.

CENTRE MIDFIELD: Bryan Robson

One of the great captains I've ever played with. He ran the game, tackled, had three lungs and scored goals. He was a great social captain which he enforced throughout his whole career. It's never a handshake and always a big hug when you see him.

CENTRE MIDFIELD: Glenn Hoddle

The things he did in training, you'd say: "Really Glenn? Really? Just bring it down a notch so we can all take part in this session!"

Michel Platini would come and watch our sessions at Monaco, and he said if Glenn had been born in France he would have played over 150 games for them. But that's the different mentality, for me he was incredible.

STRIKER: Paolo Rossi

Gary Lineker and Ally McCoist might be shaking their head here! But I was fortunate enough to play with Rossi for one year at AC Milan towards the end of his career, and he was incredibly humble for a guy who was a living legend. He scored goals at every level and had the perfect striking temperament.

STRIKER: George Weah

I saw George when Arsene brought him to Monaco after I got an injury. Some days he couldn't trap a bag of cement but the next day he would bemuse everybody with his unbelievable talent.

He scored goals and could beat players for fun. He was a big, strong boy, great in the dressing room and the ideal partner to play with Rossi.
