Brighton boss Chris Hughton has been named Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month for December.
Hughton masterminded another impressive series of performances from his side, guiding them to 13 points from a maximum 15 as they continued their promotion push.
"Chris has made Brighton and Hove Albion the team that you have to finish above to win the Sky Bet Championship," said George Burley, chair of the Sky Bet judging panel.
Barnsley forward Sam Winnall takes the plaudits in the Player of the Month category after he notched up six goals in six appearances to help the Tykes' climb up the table.
Barnsley manager Paul Heckingbottom said: "We're delighted that Sam has won the award, it's great recognition for the hard work that he's put in and his impressive form - not just in December, but throughout the season as well.
"He's been clinical with his finishing and has played a key role in what has been a strong month for us as a club."
Rochdale secured a manager and player double for December, with boss Keith Hill and midfielder Matty Lund scooping the awards in Sky Bet League One.
Bottom in mid-September, Dale finished 2016 in fourth after another scintillating month as they scored 11 goals during their four wins from four games, including a 3-2 victory over leaders Scunthorpe.
Lund was one of Rochdale's key performers during December. His 'perfect' hat-trick in the 3-2 win at Northampton that highlighted the Northern Ireland international's all-round ability.
"We were in good form heading into the month and I was absolutely delighted to start it with a win away at Carlisle United in the FA Cup," said Hill.
"We rolled from one game to the next with an honesty and an endeavour, and to win all four league games, against very tough opposition, is testament to the players' exceptional work rate and professionalism."
Colchester boss John McGreal has been named Sky Bet League Two manager of the Month after some inspired leadership ensured an upturn in fortunes for the U's.
With his side sliding down the table, McGreal demonstrated his bravery in December, switching to three at the back, and 10 points from four games is proof that his plans have worked.
Wycombe striker Scott Kashket has been named Player of the Month for December in the division. A natural finisher, Kashket scored in each of his side's four December games.
