Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of the 'new Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ Alexander Isak from Swedish side AIK Solna.

The 17-year-old, who has been compared to the former Sweden captain and Manchester United striker in his homeland, had been linked with a move to Real Madrid but has opted to join the Bundesliga side.

Sky sources understand the German side will pay a fee of around €10m (£8.6m) for the forward.

A picture of him appearing to sign a contract with the club's sporting director Michael Zorc was earlier posted to AIK player, and former Norwich and Fulham midfielder, Dickson Etuhu's Instagram account.

The caption accompanying that picture said: "True quality is recognised very early. Dortmund have incredible young players. Glad we had the chance to play together, and go become the top player we all believe you will be."

Isak scored 10 goals in 24 appearances as Solna finished second in the Allsvenskan last season and has already won two caps for Sweden after making his debut against the Ivory Coast earlier this month.
