Gordon Strachan has admitted Scotland's crucial World Cup Qualifier against Slovienia on Sunday is do or die amid reports it could be his final match in charge.

The Scots' hopes of reaching Russia 2018 are slim after just four qualifiers, having won just once and drawn once in their first four games.

Ahead of the Group F fixture at Hampden Park, which is live on Sky Sports 5, Strachan refused to discuss whether or not he would be sacked if Scotland failed to take all three points.

He said: "There's no grey areas to it. It's must-win. That's dealing with reality. We have to win.

"But sometimes when you have a challenge like that in life, it brings the best out of you. So we will have a team ready for that challenge of 'must-win' tomorrow.

"My only concern right at the moment is three points and getting to Russia - that is it. Other things will happen in my life after football. We can look at that later on.

"But every football manager, every Scottish person, would love to be in my position right now. I'm the lucky one, I get on with it and, with the players, I'm looking forward to the challenge."

Slovenia are second in the group and unbeaten after beating Slovakia and Malta and drawing with England and Lithuania.

Strachan said: "We will have to combat the strength and ability of Slovenia, because they are a right good side. They have shown that over the campaign so far.

"They will be bigger than us but the most important thing for us to nullify that is attack the other way and make sure most of the action is down the other end.

"If we can get it together then we will be fine. We can compete with most teams. We have got the shape right. We've got the players now. We've given them the information and we're ready to go now."
