Neymar was sent off for this late tackle during Barcelona's shock 2-0 defeat to Malaga

Neymar should discover on Wednesday whether he will miss Barcelona's crucial La Liga clash with title rivals Real Madrid later this month.

The Brazilian forward could be banned from El Clasico if a disciplinary panel decide to give him an additional one-match ban for his conduct following his sending-off at the weekend.

The 25-year-old was shown two yellow cards in the 2-0 defeat to Malaga last Saturday, which led to his dismissal after 65 minutes.

His first yellow was given for not retreating 10 yards when the opponents were awarded a free-kick, while the second was for a late tackle.

As Neymar departed the field of play, he sarcastically applauded referee Gil Manzano, who has included this incident in his report to the Spanish FA's competition committee.

And it was Neymar's actions, as he walked off the pitch, which could land him an extra game's suspension.

He will already miss Barca's home game with Real Sociedad this Saturday but, if the disciplinary committee decide to add an extra match to his ban, then he will also be absent for the trip to the Bernabeu on Sunday, April 23.
