Kyle Lafferty has hinted that he could return to play in Azerbaijan at club level this summer.

Lafferty came off the bench in Northern Ireland's 1-0 victory over Azerbaijan on Sunday, which was played at the Tofiq Bahramov stadium, home of Azerbaijani champions Qarabag.

Qarabag are reported to be interested in signing Lafferty, who was recently released by Norwich City and has previously played in Switzerland, Italy and Turkey.

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill has advised him to choose a club where he can get regular first-team action, and, speaking post-match in Baku, Lafferty seemed open to the idea.

He needs to go somewhere where first of all he's happy that he's valued and if you make Kyle feel like that, he'll do well for you, simple as that

He said: "I heard about the fact they were supposedly interested in me but I haven't heard anything more.

"Obviously I've spent a few days there and from what I've seen the city is fantastic and I was really impressed by the stadium.
