Alexandre Lacazette says his move from Lyon to Arsenal is a "dream come true".
Lacazette, who is Arsenal's second signing of the summer following the capture of Sead Kolasinac from Schalke, joined the Gunners on a "long-term contract for an undisclosed fee" on Wednesday evening.
The Frenchman was reportedly set to join Atletico Madrid this summer, but the deal collapsed in June after Atletico's transfer ban was confirmed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
"I am, of course, delighted and very proud too because Arsenal is a legendary club," Lacazette told the club's official website. "Throughout my childhood, thanks to Thierry Henry and other French players, I always dreamed of playing for this club so today that dream has been fulfilled."
He becomes the latest Frenchman to move to north London and will join international team-mates Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Francis Coquelin at the Emirates.
The 26-year-old scored 28 times in the French league last season as Lyon finished fourth.
Lacazette added that Arsene Wenger and Arsenal's style of football were reasons behind his move to the Emirates.
"I like clubs with history" Lacazette added. "Also the fact the manager has been here for a while shows that it is a stable club, which I like. In addition there are quite a few French players here, which makes it easier to settle in.
"In my opinion, Arsenal is also the club that plays the best football in England so I really wanted to come here."
Lacazette is likely to make his home debut for Arsenal in the Emirates Cup on July 29 or July 30.
