Sampdoria have offered £6m plus £1.5m in add-ons for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to Sky in Italy.

Wilshere has one year remaining on his Arsenal contract and spent last season on loan at Bournemouth.

His season at the Vitality Stadium was cut short when he fractured his leg against Tottenham in April. The 25-year-old has been capped 34 times by England.

Wilshere has been reportedly linked with a loan move to Crystal Palace, and Sampdoria, who finished 10th in Serie A last season, have now entered the running.

However, Wenger said at the weekend that he expects Wilshere to stay at Arsenal and fight for first-team football.

"I think Jack will be with Arsenal next season, yes," said Wenger.

"I will give you a very focused answer on that. He has to work hard to come back and fight for a place in the team.
