Leeds continued their pre-season with a 1-1 draw against Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach in Austria on Thursday.
Gladbach finished ninth in the Bundesliga last season but were largely second best against Thomas Christiansen's Leeds.
Summer signings Felix Wiedwald and Ezgjan Alioski started for Leeds but Matthew Pennington and Samuel Saiz were on the bench.
It took just two minutes for Luke Ayling to give the Championship club the lead, combining with Kemar Roofe and then finishing off the post.
Wiedwald denied Jonas Hofman, but Leeds had chances to extend their lead, with Roofe heading over from Pablo Hernandez's cross and Kalvin Phillips hitting the bar with a free-kick.
Pontus Jansson twice headed off target as the Championship side looked in control of the game.
Pennington, Saiz and Vurnon Anita were among the players introduced at the break by Leeds, and Gladbach levelled in the second half thanks to a free-kick from Patrick Herrmann.
Roofe struck the underside of the bar from close range and Chris Wood also went close, while Fabian Johnson shot wide for Gladbach late on.
Leeds stay in Austria to face La Liga side Eibar on Sunday.
