Jacob Murphy scored twice for Newcastle as Rafa Benitez's side recorded a thumping 4-0 win at Bradford City in their latest pre-season friendly at Valley Parade.

The winger, who signed from Norwich last week, netted shortly after Dwight Gayle opened the scoring for the Magpies in the 50th minute, and rounded things off after Aleksandar Mitrovic had struck their third.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Tom Ince scored again for Premier League new boys Huddersfield in pre-season, but his opener was soon cancelled out by Kevin Lasagna for Udinese before Andrija Balic struck the winner in a 2-1 victory 15 minutes from time.

West Brom recorded two wins in a double-header on Wednesday, as Jay Rodriguez scored in a 1-0 win against Burton before a 2-1 victory over Walsall, which saw Shaun Donnellan and Hal Robson-Kanu on target.

Riyad Mahrez continued his good run of form with a late strike for Leicester against Luton Town in a 1-0 win, while Birmingham drew 1-1 at Kidderminster and Sunderland were held to a goalless draw at Scunthorpe.
