Pre-season title favourites Mansfield grabbed their first win of the Sky Bet League Two season with a 2-0 victory over newly-promoted Forest Green Rovers.
Striker Danny Rose and winger Paul Anderson scored within six minutes of each other in the second half to hand Steve Evans' side the points at the One Call Stadium.
Yeovil bounced back from their 8-2 thrashing at Luton on the opening weekend with a 3-2 win over Accrington. Kayden Jackson gave Stanley an early lead but two goals from Olufela Olomola and a Francois Zoko strike turned the match Yeovil's way. Jackson grabbed his second eight minutes after the break but the visitors were unable to fashion an equaliser.
Coventry maintained their perfect start to life in the fourth tier by beating Grimsby 2-0. Marc McNulty took advantage of a mix-up from a Grimsby set-piece in their own half to open the scoring, before full-back Jack Grimmer added a second.
Adebayo Akinfenwa's first-half double helped Wycombe record a 3-2 win at Port Vale. The veteran target man headed in a Sido Jombati set-piece after just two minutes and, after Paris Cowan-Hall had added a second, nodded in a Luke O'Nien corner shortly before the break.
Vale came back strongly in the second half - but late goals from Dan Turner and Ben Whitfield ultimately proved insufficient.
Mikael Mandron's equaliser rescued a first point of the season for Colchester as they drew 1-1 with Stevenage, Jack Taylor nabbed a last-minute winner for Barnet in a 1-0 victory against Luton and Cheltenham striker Mohamed Eisa scored the only goal of the game against Crawley.
Chris Dagnall rescued a point for 10-man Crewe in a 1-1 draw with Newport. Franck Nouble gave the visitors an early lead before Perry Ng saw red, but Dagnall levelled a minute later for the Railwaymen.
