Bayern Munich have opened a new £64m youth academy which Uli Hoeness hopes will tackle “current transfer madness and the explosion of salaries”.

The Bayern president cut the ribbon at the official opening of the 30-hectare facility on Monday and said the centre's goal was to "optimise the development of young talent".

The German champions have been busy in the transfer market this summer, signing James Rodriguez on loan from Real Madrid, Corentin Tolisso from Lyon, Serge Gnabry from Werder Bremen, Niklas Sule from Hoffenheim and have secured a permanent deal for Kingsley Coman.

"We see a chance to generate lots of success with this campus," Hoeness said at the official opening.

"This campus will be another crucial foundation for the future of FC Bayern, another trademark of our club. Through clever tactics FC Bayern aim to train talents even better at this youth academy than at the Saebener Strasse training facility, which burst at the seams.
