Monaco have completed the signing of Inter Milan striker Stevan Jovetic on a four-year deal.
Jovetic, who had been linked to a Premier League return with Newcastle, has sealed a £10m move to Ligue 1.
He has also taken the No 10 shirt in another indication that former wearer Kylian Mbappe is on his way to Paris Saint-Germain.
Montenegro international Jovetic spent time in England with Manchester City, but only made 28 Premier League appearances in two seasons, scoring eight goals.
City loaned him to Inter in 2015-16 and that move was made permanent the following summer.
But he only made a further handful of appearances in Serie A and spent the second half of last season on loan in Spain with Sevilla.
Benitez had hoped to sign Jovetic for Liverpool when he was a Fiorentina player in 2009 and remained an admirer of the 27-year-old.
The Spaniard is looking to boost his attacking options, with their goals in the 3-0 win over West Ham on Saturday having been the first they scored in the league this season.
