Revista Predictor: Experts and fans register worst La Liga weekly totals

Revista Predictor

This week very much felt like the #RevistaPredictor was sending out a message to say that it was boss, not us, as both experts and fans registered the worst weekly totals so far this campaign.

Three tough games to predict, and we didn't exactly cover ourselves in glory. We predicted...

And this is what happened...

MATCH 1 - Alaves 1-2 Real Madrid

All five of us went for a Madrid win, but we all thought it would be more comfortable, especially Rob and Kevin - so it's just the one point apiece for Messrs Garrido, Palmer, Driscoll, Keatings and Phillips.

No one got Dani Ceballos as first goalscorer, but a boost for him as he settles into life with the Spanish and European champions, even if they don't look it right now. For Real, it's a vital victory to stop the rot.

MATCH 2 - Eibar 0-4 Celta Vigo

This is the game that produced a spread of forecasts, and maybe flukily I'm the only one to pick up a point for correct match outcome.

But who'd have thought that Celta would dominate so much at Ipurua, and that centre-back Gustavo Cabral would score first? The answer is no one. This too is a much-needed victory for Juan Carlos Unzue and his team, who pull away from the bottom three.

MATCH 3 - Las Palmas 0-2 Leganes

Cue the tumbleweed. The Predictor all made us look silly with this one - most of us, except Rob, tempted in by Las Palmas' recent return to form and the fact they're usually much stronger at home than away.

Again, first scorer would stump us too - Claudio Beauvue the man to open the scoring for Lega after half-time who, ahead of the Monday night game, are sixth in the table.

So not much movement in the overall standings, but it's still tight at the top, with Rob Palmer maintaining his slender lead over Kevin Keatings...

The only shoutout this week is @TomNewland08 who got the Celta match outcome right - but let's hope the #RevistaPredictor gives us some friendlier encounters to try and predict next time.
