Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal is facing an additional two-match Champions League ban for "receiving a yellow card on purpose" in the 6-0 win at APOEL.
The Spaniard earned the caution on Tuesday as Madrid cruised to victory in Cyprus after spending an extended amount of time taking a throw-in.
With the victory Real qualified for the knockout stages in second place behind Tottenham, meaning the final match against Borussia Dortmund on December 6 has no bearing on the La Liga side's final position in Group H.
Carvajal's caution would have meant missing the match against Dortmund but being available to play in last 16.
However, the footballing body says it has charged Carvajal with "receiving a yellow card on purpose".
UEFA's disciplinary panel will judge the case on Thursday, December 7.
The rules state a player trying to get a yellow or red card should receive a two-game ban. This would result - should the ban be implemented - in Carvajal missing both legs of Madrid's final-16 clash.
Two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema and strikes from Nacho and Luka Modric sealed Real's victory over APOEL.
