Cardiff manager Neil Warnock has been charged with misconduct by the FA after he was sent from the touchline during Monday’s 2-2 draw at Reading.

The incident happened in the 78th minute of the Sky Bet Championship game at the Madejski Stadium, which saw the Bluebirds battle back from 2-0 down to earn a draw thanks to two goals in the last 10 minutes.

Warnock was angered by the decision to send him to the stands by referee Steve Martin, describing it as a "travesty".

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock says his side thoroughly deserved more than just a 2-2 draw at Reading.

"Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has been charged with misconduct following his sending-off during the game against Reading on Monday December 11, 2017," an FA statement read.

"He has until 6pm on Friday, December 15 to respond."

Speaking after the game - where an 83rd-minute goal from Joe Bennett and a stoppage-time equaliser from substitute Lee Tomlin earned Cardiff a point - Warnock was critical of Martin and fourth official Andy Woolmer.

"It's the first time I've sent off for asking a fourth official in a sensible way about a player arching their back," he said.

"I don't know whether Woolmer was panicking a bit because he's very experienced.

"I called him over and I suppose the referee is going to enjoy that, isn't he? It's his big night.
