Bristol City manager Lee Johnson celebrated the winning goal against Manchester United with a ball boy

Bristol City manager Lee Johnson celebrated with a very excited ball boy as his side knocked out Manchester United in the Carabao Cup quarter final.

Korey Smith scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner to eliminate the holders at Ashton Gate and Johnson reacted by charging down the touchline before being met by a jubilant ball boy.

Johnson joked "someone said I'd picked up my bigger brother" when discussing the incident post-match, admitting he "needed to celebrate with someone".

"To beat Manchester United at home is a historic occasion, and that Korey Smith goal at the end will live in the memory for many generations," said Johnson.

The late winner earned Bristol City a semi-final against Premier League leaders Manchester City, the fifth top-flight side Johnson's team will face in the Carabao Cup.
