Roy Hodgson says Crystal Palace are still pursuing deals for Vicente Guaita and Ibrahim Amadou.

Roy Hodgson says Crystal Palace are still working on bringing Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita and Lille's Ibrahim Amadou to the club.

The Eagles have monitored Guaita throughout the January window with Sky Sports Spanish football expert Guillem Balague revealing the 31-year-old has already passed a medical at the club.

As for Amadou, Sky Sports News understands Palace have had three of their bids rejected for the Cameroon defender, including a loan offer of £16million, as Lille would prefer a permanent move.

Speaking about Guaita, Hodgson said: "He is a player of course that we like and a player that we are still pursuing and it would be nice if he can come in the January transfer window.

"But, that is something that the chairman and Doug Freedman are working hard on and I cannot update you."

The Spaniard is out of contract in the summer and will be available on a free transfer. However, the Getafe boss Jose Bordalas admitted on Friday 26 he was convinced Guaita would remain in Spain this month.

On Amadou, Hodgson added: "It is another name that has been mentioned, a name that we have talked about.

"But once again it is a deal, or a decision, or a situation that is being dealt with really at the level of the chairman and sporting director, and I am just waiting to see if anything transpires."

Sky Sources understand Amadou is valued at about £20m but Lille's financial problems mean they would sell for less.

The Ligue 1 side need to raise €25m to avoid potential relegation to Ligue 2 for breaking French financial fair play rules.

Crystal Palace take on rivals West Ham on Tuesday, a side they haven't beaten in their last five Premier League meetings.
