Memphis Depay struck a dramatic stoppage-time winner as Lyon moved to within two points of third-placed Marseille with a thrilling 3-2 win at the Stade Velodrome.

Substitute Depay headed past home keeper Steve Mandanda to seal the three points and put Lyon in a good position to overhaul their opponents and seal the third and final Champions League spot in Ligue 1.

Rolando had put Marseille in front after 31 minutes but an own goal from Adil Rami shortly before half-time pulled the visitors back level.

Houssem Aouar gave Lyon the lead just after the re-start and despite an 84th-minute equaliser from Konstantinos Mitroglou, Lyon still had time to snatch back the points.

Dani Alves' first Ligue 1 goal maintained Paris Saint-Germain's stranglehold on the title as they rode their luck to win 2-1 at Nice.

Alves headed home eight minutes from time to complete a comeback which secured a ninth-successive league win after Mario Balotelli had rattled the crossbar at the other end with the game finely poised.

The impressive Allan Saint-Maximin had fired Nice into an early lead, but Angel Di Maria levelled to leave a keenly-contested game in the balance.

Nantes missed the chance to leapfrog Rennes into fifth place as they were held to a 1-1 draw at rock-bottom Metz.

The home side went into the game without a win in six league games and with relegation virtually assured, but they grabbed a 12th-minute lead through Nolan Roux.

Valentin Rongier equalised for Nantes in the 23rd minute but his side could not build on their equaliser and had to settle for a point.
