Accrington took a major step towards League Two promotion with a 1-0 victory at Mansfield on a Good Friday where none of the other sides in the top six won.

Seamus Conneely headed home on the hour mark to give Stanley a ninth win out of 10 matches and move them 10 points clear of fourth-placed Notts County with two games in hand. The Stags, whose play-offs hopes were hit, were always up against it after the early dismissal of Mal Benning.

Accrington's decent afternoon was made even better by second-placed Luton losing 2-1 at Colchester.

Wycombe maintained their advantage in third place as a 0-0 draw at Notts County kept them four points clear of the Magpies in fourth. Lincoln moved into the top seven with a 3-2 win over Exeter.

Coventry needed a Maxime Biamou goal 11 minutes from time to earn a 1-1 draw at Newport, who led through Mickey Demetriou's first-half goal.

There was a big win for Martin Allen's Barnet in their fight to stay in the English Football League as they beat Crewe 2-1. Port Vale claimed a vital 2-1 win over Chesterfield which moves them eight points clear of the Spireites, who remain second from bottom.

Goals from Jabo Ibhere, George Maris and Jevani Brown gave Cambridge a 3-1 success over Crawley while Jamie Devitt's penalty gave Carlisle a 1-0 win at Cheltenham.
