AC Milan are set to reward head coach Gennaro Gattuso with a new contract ahead of their derby clash with Inter on April 4.
Gattuso has overseen an upturn in fortunes at the Serie A club since taking over from Vincenzo Montella in a caretaker capacity last November.
The club's former youth team coach has guided Milan into the Europa League places and hopes of qualifying for the Champions League thanks to a run of eight wins in 10 unbeaten games.
"When we open our eggs this Easter, we're going to find Gennaro Gattuso's renewal inside," Milan's sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli said.
"I've been telling you for some time, although perhaps you only know him as a player, that Rino (Gattuso) is already an important coach and in the future will be one of the best in the world, so it's only right that Milan keep hold of him.
"We are working to start a new era with Gattuso, because we believe he is the right coach for a Milan that must be a protagonist over the next few years.
"We all want it (contract), Rino like all of us, we just need to find the right time to do what we have to do."
Milan have not been beaten domestically since December 23, with their only two defeats in any competition coming at the hands of Arsenal when they crashed out of the Europa League earlier in March.
