A Memphis Depay-inspired Lyon regained third spot in the table with a comprehensive victory at bottom club Metz.

The Netherlands forward scored one goal and set up the other four as Lyon secured a fourth straight league success and won 5-0 away from home in Ligue 1 for the fourth time this season.

Marcelo opened the scoring in the first minute with a header and then nodded in a second goal after 20 minutes. Depay had set up both goals but he got his name on the scoresheet with a low finish in the 65th minute.

Depay laid on another goal for Bertrand Traore three minutes later and then rounded off an impressive individual display by setting up Mariano to score with four minutes remaining to complete the rout.

Marseille are fourth after they were held to a goalless home draw by Montpellier at Stade Velodrome. It was a sixth draw in the last seven league games for the sixth-placed visitors.

Montpellier's point pushed Nice back down to seventh spot. Nice drew 1-1 earlier in the day at home to Rennes, who remain unbeaten in eight Ligue 1 matches.

Sabri Lamouchi's side extended their run thanks to Benjamin Bourigeaud's equalising goal shortly after Alassane Plea had put the hosts in front.

Plea continued his rich vein of scoring form with a low shot from outside the penalty area after 17 minutes. It was the 25-year-old's seventh goal in his last four matches.

The lead lasted just 10 minutes, however, as Bourigeaud turned in Mehdi Zeffane's cross from close range.
