Arsene Wenger refused to be drawn on what life after Arsenal holds in store as he began his emotional farewell with victory over West Ham.
Wenger, who will call time on his 22-year tenure with the Gunners this summer, kicked off his long goodbye with a comprehensive 4-1 win over the Hammers.
While thoughts have understandably turned to who will succeed Wenger at the Emirates, the Frenchman's next move is generating equal attention.
But, speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Wenger was coy about future coaching possibilities or a return to Arsenal in a different capacity.
"I don't know [about another coaching job]," he said. "At the moment my focus is where it's always been, my loyalties to this club until the last day I'm here. We will see.
"I don't know [about return to Arsenal in a different capacity]. That does not depend on me.
"I have accumulated a knowledge and history for this club. Look at the number of Premier League, European Cup, FA Cup games we have played together.
"We have built a history and a solid foundation. If you look at the club when I arrived I think we have gone a good way together."
It took the Gunners 51 minutes to open the scoring on a day of high emotion at the Emirates as Nacho Monreal fired in his sixth goal of the season in all competitions.
Marko Arnautovic drew the Hammers level with a fine strike in the 64th minute but after a defensive error from Declan Rice saw Aaron Ramsey put Arsenal back in front, a late Alexandre Lacazette brace made sure of the points.
"We constructed our win patiently," Wenger added. "It was difficult to find space in the first half, they were well organised.
"But we remained composed and patient and from the second half on we always looked like we could score more goals because we found more space. On top of that, we have shown a great spirit again.
"The second goal was key. At 1-1 you could see we may have been wobbling but the second goal killed them.
"We had a spell in the second half when we came out when we should have scored two or three goals. So when they came back to 1-1 it was interesting to see how we responded."
