Chesterfield have been relegated from Sky Bet League Two after Morecambe drew 0-0 with Cambridge on Tuesday night.

The Spireites weren't in action but the Shrimps' result has left them 10 points adrift with just three games left to play.

It means Chesterfield, who parted company with manager Jack Lester at the weekend, have suffered back-to-back relegations after finishing bottom of Sky Bet League One last season, and they'll play in the National League next year.

It brings to an end the club's 97-year stay in the Football League, having last played outside of the top four divisions in 1921.
