Jon Nolan scored a brilliant winner for Shrewsbury in their play-off semi-final at Charlton

The Shrewsbury midfielder's goal with 10 minutes to go gave Paul Hurst's side a 1-0 win at The Valley and they will now hope to finish the job at New Meadow on Sunday.

In a game in which both chances and quality were at a premium, Nolan had no need for the former and showed the latter in spades as he hammered the ball in off the crossbar from the edge of the box from Stefan Payne's knock down.

As the ball bounced up, the first-time shot looked ambitious in the extreme but he leapt to get his knee over the ball and his confidence was rewarded when his sweet strike sent the ball flying past Ben Amos.
