Samuel Armenteros' two first-half goals propelled Portland Timbers to a sixth straight MLS victory, winning 3-2 against Colorado.
Armenteros' first came from a Sebastian Blanco pass, when he flicked the ball past former Liverpool defender Danny Wilson before firing a left-footed shot into the net.
Edgar Castillo helped to level when his cross struck the outstretched leg of Timbers defender Julio Cascante for an unfortunate own goal, but Portland went ahead again when Armenteros headed in his second goal. Diego Valeri added his fifth of the season before Colorado's Yannick Boli converted a penalty in the final moments to halve the deficit.
Cristian Techera scored three second-half goals and Vancouver Whitecaps overcame several defensive errors to draw 3-3 with New England Revolution on Saturday.
Whitecaps defender Aly Ghazal scored an own goal and made a poor pass that helped set up New England's Teal Bunbury to double the lead, before Techera scored two quick goals to level.
Bunbury gave New England a 3-2 lead when Ghazal's weak pass was picked off, but Techera was there to equalise again and give Whitecaps a share of the spoils.
Elsewhere on Saturday, LAFC played with 10 men the entire second half of a 1-1 draw at home to DC United.
LAFC took the lead shortly before the break, as a deflected pass in the box bounced to Diego Rossi, and the Uruguayan slotted the ball in.
Dejan Jakovic then received a straight red card for a studs-up tackle on Paul Arriola, and DC made their man advantage count late on, when Joseph Mora's cross to the back post was headed back across by Arriola and then headed into the net by Darren Mattocks.
Alan Gordon's late goal gave Chicago Fire a 2-1 win over Orlando City.
Gordon finished off Bastian Schweinsteiger's cross by firing a rocket into the top corner from 25 yards to give the hosts the lead with eight minutes left, before Mohammed Adams was sent off.
But the Fire held on from there, including six minutes of stoppage time, to end a two-game losing streak. Aleksandar Katai had given Chicago the lead with a free kick after 13 minutes, and Cristian Higuita levelled it for Orlando City in the 28th.
Sebastian Saucedo's goal on the hour gave Real Salt Lake a narrow 1-0 victory over Seattle Sounders.

Robles sat out due to a knee injury he suffered in the final minutes of a win at Colorado a week ago, ending his streak of 183 games dating to September 2012.
