Former Wolves striker Kevin Doyle scored the only goal of the game as last-placed Colorado Rapids beat Seattle Sounders in MLS on Saturday.

The Republic of Ireland international rounded off an counter-attack in the 84th minute to inflict the Sounders' fifth defeat in six matches and hand Colorado their first win in Seattle.

Fabian Castillo scored in the second minute of stoppage time to give FC Dallas their fourth straight MLS victory after a 2-1 win over DC United.

Kellyn Acosta borke the deadlock in the 73rd minute to give the home side the lead but DC United were back level just four minutes later thanks to Matt Hedges' own goal.

However, Dallas sealed all three points when Castillo struck in the closing stages to put his side on top of the Western Conference.

Sporting Kansas City recorded a club record eighth straight home win thanks to a 2-1 victory over Montreal Impact.

Benny Feilhaber opened the scoring in the fourth minute and set up Dom Dwyer's goal in the 34th before Ignacio Piatti pulled one back for the visitors.

Sporting moved into joint-third in the Western Conference with Vancouver Whitecaps, who drew 1-1 away to Portland Timbers.

Sacha Kljestan's superb strike gave New York Red Bulls the lead in their MLS victory over Orlando City

Meanwhile, New York Red Bulls beat Orlando City 2-0 in Florida to leap into second place in the Eastern Conference.

Sacha Kljestan and former Leeds star Mike Grella scored to help New York to their fourth win in five games.

Elsewhere, Toronto FC won 2-1 at home to Philadelphia Union, New England Revolution toppled New York City FC 1-0 in Foxborough and Real Salt Lake defeated visitors Houston Dynamo 2-0.
