Sergio Aguero, Diego Costa, Wayne Rooney? Who will score the most goals in the Premier League? We take a look at the main contenders...
Sergio Aguero - 11/4 to be top scorer
Manchester City's Sergio Aguero topped the scoring charts last season and is favourite with Sky Bet to repeat the trick in 2015/16. The Argentina international netted 26 times in 33 appearances in the Premier League, unleashing more shots per game (4.5) than any other player in the division. Manuel Pellegrini will hope his top marksman will be fully fit and firing throughout the new campaign. City's title hopes depend on Aguero delivering.
Diego Costa - 5/1
Diego Costa scored more frequently (every 104.1 minutes) than any other player in the Premier League last season, with the exception of Aguero (every 97.65 minutes) and Arsenal’s Theo Walcott (every 88.2 minutes). Twenty goals in his first season in English football was a terrific return for the former Atletico Madrid man, and he was a key part to Chelsea's Premier League title triumph. Can the Spain international recapture that form in his second season on these shores?
Wayne Rooney - 11/1
Manchester United's Wayne Rooney has attracted more money than any other player in Sky Bet’s top scorer market. The England captain has been backed in from 16/1 to 11/1 to bag more goals than anyone else in 2015/16, following Louis van Gaal's announcement Rooney would be his main striker this season. Rooney netted 12 times in the Premier League last season – but scored 27 in his last full campaign up front (2011/12).
Harry Kane - 14/1
Tottenham's Harry Kane enjoyed a breakthrough season last time out, scoring 21 goals. The England international is available at 14/1 to finish top scorer in the Premier League after finishing second to Aguero in 2014/15. But can Kane repeat his remarkable form of last season now he'll be a marked man everywhere he goes?
Christian Benteke - 16/1
Belgium international Christian Benteke scored 13 Premier League goals to help Aston Villa avoid relegation last season - could his big money move to Liverpool this summer see the striker score even more in 2015/16? That’s what Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will be hoping. Benteke will be tasked with providing the firepower to blast Liverpool back into the Champions League spots. He's 16/1 to be the league's top scorer.
Other contenders
Elsewhere, the Arsenal trio of Olivier Giroud (18/1), Alexis Sanchez (20/1) and Walcott (22/1) are outsiders to lead the scoring charts, even if their team's chances of topping the Premier League seem greatly improved. Meanwhile, 2014/15 PFA Player of the Year Eden Hazard, who scored 14 in Chelsea's championship-winning campaign, is 20/1 to outscore his top flight foes, while Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge currently stands at 22/1 to put his fitness problems behind him and start firing for the Reds.
