Aston Villa midfielder Leandro Bacuna has signed a new long-term contract with the Premier League club.
Bacuna, who turns 24 on Friday, has been rewarded with a new five-year deal after impressing since the arrival of manager Tim Sherwood.
The Dutchman spent the majority of his time under previous boss Paul Lambert on the bench but broke into the first team after Sherwood replaced the Scot in February.
Bacuna, who can also play in defence, joined from Groningen in June 2013 and has since made over 50 appearances.
"I am absolutely thrilled to sign a new contract and continue my time at Aston Villa," Bacuna told Villa's website.
"I love it here and am really excited about my future in claret and blue under the manager. I feel I can really develop here and show my worth to the team and I think there are bright times ahead for us all."
