Besiktas have ended their interest in Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva after deciding the Anfield club's asking price for the Brazilian was too high.
The 28-year-old was expected to move to Turkey on an initial loan but he played in Monday's 0-0 Premier League draw at Arsenal.
His first appearance of the season drew praise from his manager Brendan Rodgers afterwards as the point gained at the Emirates kept his side in the Champions League qualifying positions.
Rodgers sees Lucas as his best holding midfielder but it is understood that while Liverpool did not necessarily want to sell him, they were willing to listen to offers.
Besiktas have since chosen not to move for the former Gremio youngster, who signed a long-term contract to remain on Merseyside two years ago.
The Istanbul club's president, Fikret Orman, has confirmed they would not be attempting to sign the Brazil international.
