QPR have completed the signing of Watford defender Gabriele Angella on a season-long loan.

The Italian was part of the Hornets side which won promotion to the Premier League last season but has been allowed to return to the Sky Bet Championship with Chris Ramsey's side.

The central defender arrived at Vicarage Road in 2013, scoring eight goals in 45 appearances during his first season at the club.

Head coach Ramsey said he was delighted to add the 26-year-old to his QPR squad for the season.

"Gabriele's a quality addition for us," Ramsey told www.qpr.co.uk.

"We've got decent competition now in the back four and Gabriele's experience, especially at a level where he was promoted with Watford last season, will be a big positive for us.

"I'm delighted we've been able to get this over the line before the deadline."
