West Brom striker Saido Berahino has taken part in a 90-minute training session with signs that his future looks a little more secure.

The 22-year-old was the subject of four bids from Tottenham during the transfer window and he caused a storm among the club's fans when he tried to force through a move by submitting a written transfer request.

He then sent a tweet, which he has since deleted, on the final day of the window in which he threatened: "I can officially say I will never play [for West Brom chairman] Jeremy Peace".

Despite this declaration, Berahino has been included in Tony Pulis' Premier League squad and has now been involved with training on Monday afternoon.

Sky Sports News HQ reporter Rob Dorsett said: "The training took place between 2.00 and 3.30pm. He trained with the rest of the squad and it was like a normal day and normal session.

"There had been concerns of Berahino getting on with his team-mates after formally handing in a transfer request and that famous tweet that was deleted where he said he wouldn't play for the chairman.

"It didn't say he wouldn't train though. It does strike me that signs are improving for him and his future is a bit more secure.

"But he still has to win over the supporters. A survey with 3,000 fans said 72 per cent said they never wanted to see him play again.

"I've spoken to some of his team-mates and they said he was a key player and I think they'll welcome him back with open arms, although probably with a bit of ribbing."
