Wayne Rooney's England record will be beaten says Denis Law

Scotland legend Denis Law says he does not expect Wayne Rooney's England scoring record to last as long as that held by former Manchester United teammate Sir Bobby Charlton.
Rooney matched Charlton's 49 goals when scoring against San Marino last weekend on his 106th international appearance, the same tally the World Cup winner bowed out on in 1970.
The Manchester United striker has the chance to beat the record against Switzerland at Wembley on Tuesday but Law believes any new mark will tumble a lot sooner than the 45 years enjoyed by Charlton.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, Law, who scored 30 goals in 55 internationals, said: "Records are there to be broken, somewhere along the line. I'm sure I broke someone's record at United.
"It's inevitable, particularly with the amount of games they play and on the pitches they have these days, which are made for goalscorers.
"I'm sure Sir Bobby will take it well. He is a good lad, was a fantastic player and will always be up there with the best.
"Who knows how long Wayne's record will last? Bobby's was supposed to be there for all time but they play so many games now that it will be broken."
Law was speaking at the National Football Museum in Manchester where Sir Bobby was given the first plaque on its newly-proposed Walk of Fame, a tribute to England's World Cup-winning side of 1966.
