Liverpool's collapse at Southampton was not the first time they have thrown victory, in fact, no other team has dropped more points from a winning position than Jurgen Klopp's men.

The Reds seemed in control at St Mary's, having played some scintillating football in the opening 45 minutes on the south coast, but Liverpool were masters of their own downfall, and gifted Saints a way back in with some woeful defending.

And Klopp's side have previous. They have dropped a league-high 15 points from a winning position, one more than their stuttering Merseyside rivals Everton, newly-promoted Bournemouth, out-of-sorts Chelsea and struggling Swansea. They would certainly be well-placed for a top four finish if they could have seen out even just a few of their matches when in front.

After breaking the deadlock against West Brom, Sunderland, Southampton and Norwich, all at Anfield, you'd expect the might of Liverpool to go on to secure three points, but each time they have been pegged back and picked up just four points from those four encounters.

Surprisingly, Tottenham and league leaders Leicester are not far behind having dropped 13 and 12 points respectively.

The team who have the best record is Manchester City, which is surprising when you consider their recent problems.
