Everton and Liverpool are preparing to do battle in front of the Sky Sports cameras on 'Mersey Monday' but who do the Soccer Saturday pundits expect to triumph?

Liverpool travel to Goodison Park looking to maintain their Premier League title charge, while Ronald Koeman's men will be looking to build on the momentum from their midweek comeback win over Arsenal.

Ahead of the Monday Night Football clash, here's what Phil Thompson, Matt Le Tissier, Charlie Nicholas and Paul Merson are predicting in their Sky Bet tips...

Phil Thompson

I was actually glad they got the monkey off their back with that win against Arsenal because they were due a result.

To finish so strongly is fair credit to them, but they could've been a few down after half-an-hour after they started so poorly.

The supporters will be demanding the same again, but it's hard for Everton to do that for 90 minutes because the mileage they've been putting in as a team has not be great and they'll probably be feeling it from that big effort.

Their players have got a few more with derbies under their belt, with the likes of local lads Ross Barkley and Leighton Baines, so it will be up to Jordan Henderson to raise the Liverpool team and remind them of the importance of this match.

I think it was the right decision from Jurgen Klopp all round to bring in Simon Mignolet. It would have been a difficult one but he has to think of the team first and foremost rather than the player.

Adam Lallana has been different class and is so important now, with the way he and Roberto Firmino get between the lines, while Divock Origi has certainly taken his chance with five goals in five, so I'm fairly confident here.

Thommo predicts: 1-2 and Sadio Mane to score first (33/1 with Sky Bet)

Matt Le Tissier

The win against Arsenal will give them a massive boost and I think the home advantage might just tip it in Everton's favour.

They'll of had an extra day's rest, which makes a difference when it comes to a high-tempo derby clash, especially as the intensity of their midweek game.

Liverpool have proved they simply can't handle physical threats and if Everton play the game correctly and get some crosses in then Lukaku should thrive.

Le Tiss predicts: 2-1 and Lukaku to score first (45/1 with Sky Bet)

The way Everton celebrated their one victory over Arsenal like they won the league, you can see they needed the lift.

They were awful for much of the game but they battled and scrapped and the fans will get behind them here after that much needed pick-me-up.

That fighting spirit was there for all to see against Arsenal and you wonder whether it will spill over here.

Klopp will stick with Mignolet after his decision was vindicated, so they look a little more solid now.

Origi is scoring goals now so they're not struggling on that front, but I still see them as a susceptible side defensively, so I'm expecting plenty of goals in a close game.

Charlie predicts: 2-2 and Romelu Lukaku to score first (70/1 with Sky Bet)

Paul Merson

Liverpool are massive favourites here, but this is a Merseyside derby, a leveller, so anything can happen

If Everton can play like they can, like they did against Arsenal, getting in their faces, they can get a win. If they play like they did in the first half against Arsenal, sitting off and allowing Liverpool to come at them, then Liverpool will win.

Liverpool at the back are not good enough, but going forward they are the best around at the moment, and have goals from everywhere. It really should be a great game, with goals.

Paul predicts: 2-2 (Sky Bet odds 12/1)
