Where would Manchester City securing the league against Manchester United rank in terms of title-winning moments?

City could clinch the Premier League title by beating Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, live on Sky Sports.

How would it compare to previous successes? We take a look at five of the best title-winning moments in Premier League history…

City leave it late

"You'll never see anything like this…"

Martin Tyler summed it up perfectly on Sky Sports as Manchester City came back from the brink to win the title in dramatic fashion on the final day of the 2011/12 season.

It looked like City might have blown the chance to win the league for the first time in 44 years as they trailed QPR 2-1 while Manchester United were winning at Sunderland.

City needed to score twice to overhaul United at the top of the table on goal difference and they left it until the last seconds of the season as Edin Dzeko equalised in the 92nd minute and then Sergio Aguero won the title with almost the final kick of the match, sparking Tyler's iconic 'Agueroooo' commentary.

"It's not going to get any more dramatic than a 94th-minute winner on the last day of the Premier League's 20th season, is it?" said Tyler a few years later. Probably not...

A gr-eight way to win it

Chelsea won the 2009/10 title in the most emphatic of fashions as they thrashed Wigan 8-0 on the final day at Stamford Bridge.

Carlo Ancelotti's side needed victory to ensure they finished top and they didn't look back after Nicolas Anelka's sixth-minute opener.

Anelka would score again, Drogba would score a 17-minute hat-trick and Salomon Kalou, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole would also find the net as Chelsea secured the biggest win in their history.

They also smashed the record for the most league goals in a Premier League season with 103.

The start of the treble

An absorbing title race came down to the final day in 1998/99 as Manchester United and Arsenal battled it out, with United facing Tottenham at Old Trafford and Arsenal taking on Aston Villa at Highbury.

United needed to win to ensure they finished top but fell behind to a Les Ferdinand goal after 24 minutes at Old Trafford.

However, goals either side of half-time from David Beckham and Andrew Cole saw United turn the game around and win the title at their own ground.

United would go on to secure the treble by winning the FA Cup and Champions League.

Miklosko saves Blackburn

The final 42-game Premier League season went down to the wire.

Blackburn Rovers were two points clear of Manchester United in 1994/95 but faced a tricky trip to Anfield on the last day. United, meanwhile, went to West Ham.

Things looked to be going in Blackburn's favour when West Ham took the lead against United. However, Brian McClair levelled and then goals from John Barnes and Jamie Redknapp put Liverpool 2-1 ahead against Blackburn.

Kenny Dalglish's side could not get back into the game and it took a string of fine saves from West Ham goalkeeper Ludek Miklosko to prevent Manchester United getting the goal they needed to snatch the title.

"I don't know how he saved some of the things he saved that day," said West Ham scorer Michael Hughes later. "It wasn't meant to be for United that season - it was as simple as that."

Blackburn celebrated at Anfield as they won the league for the first time since 1914 and their first major trophy in 67 years.

Arsenal win it at the Lane

As Manchester City might discover on Sunday, there aren't many better ways to win the league than against your rivals. But what about at the home of your rivals?

That's what Arsenal did in 2003/04 when they clinched the league at White Hart Lane after a 2-2 draw with Tottenham.

Patrick Vieira and Robert Pires put the 'Invincibles' 2-0 ahead, and even though Spurs fought back and levelled thanks to a late penalty, it was Arsenal celebrating at the final whistle.

"I don't want to diminish my other two championships but this is special," said manager Arsene Wenger afterwards.
