Kevin De Bruyne in action during the Premier League match between Manchester City and Southampton

We pick out five of the best stats from a busy day of Premier League action up and down the country.

From Kevin De Bruyne's latest assist to Christian Benteke's dismal finishing, there were plenty of facts and figures to choose from.

Read on to check out our selection.

De Bruyne assists again

Kevin De Bruyne provided his 15th assist of the season with his cross for Gabriel Jesus' header in Manchester City's 3-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park. The victory means Pep Guardiola's side will clinch the title with a win over Manchester United next weekend.

dd

De Bruyne, arguably the most important player in City's recent success, has now made 42 league assists since the start of the 2015/16 season. It's more than any other player in Europe's top-five leagues and it underlines his quality. He will surely push Mohamed Salah close for the Player of the Year award.

Benteke's dismal finishing

Christian Benteke endured a miserable afternoon against his former side Liverpool, spurning two big chances in Crystal Palace's 2-1 defeat as his miserable run in front of goal continued. He has scored just two goals in 26 appearances for the Eagles this season and recently lost his place in the Belgium squad.

His finishing has become a major issue. According to Opta, Benteke has missed 20 out of 22 clear-cut chances at Palace this season. No player has missed more and his dismal conversion rate is proving costly for relegation-threatened Palace.

Lukaku joins the 100 club

Romelu Lukaku scored his 100th Premier League goal to help Manchester United claim a 2-0 win over Swansea at Old Trafford. He is the 28th player to reach the landmark and he did it in 216 appearances, making him the 12th quickest - just ahead of his former Chelsea team-mate Didier Drogba.

Lukaku is the fifth-youngest player to reach 100 goals at 24 years and 322 days. He has scored the most goals against West Ham (nine), and the player to have assisted him most is Everton winger Kevin Mirallas. Read more about Lukaku's 100 here.

Pardew's nightmare continues

West Brom took another step towards relegation as they suffered their eighth consecutive defeat, going down 2-1 at home to Burnley. They are now 10 points away from safety with just six games remaining.

Alan Pardew

For Pardew, it is a continuation of a dismal run as a manager. In his last 28 Premier League matches in charge of West Brom and Crystal Palace, he has picked up just 12 points from a possible 84. There is little evidence to suggest a change of fortunes is around the corner.

Defoe the late-show specialist

Jermain Defoe rescued a point for Bournemouth against Watford, coming off the bench to score in the second minute of stoppage time and clinch a 2-2 draw for Eddie Howe's side.

x

According to Opta, it was Defoe's 15th Premier League goal in the 90th minute or later - four more than any other player in the competition's history. The veteran striker still has an important role to play for the Cherries.
