Garry Monk says Sawnsea need to forget about Euro 2016

Swansea manager Garry Monk says he has told his players to put their Euro 2016 qualification achievements 'to bed' and concentrate on the Premier League.
Six members of Monk's squad are celebrating qualification for France next summer, in the form of Ashley Williams and Neil Taylor (Wales), Jonjo Shelvey (England), Gylfi Sigurdsson (Iceland), Lukasz Fabianski (Poland) and Eder (Portugal).
However, while Monk is very pleased for his returning players, he was disappointed with Swansea's performance in the first match after the previous international break.
And the Swans boss is determined to make sure his side are fully focused on the visit of Stoke on Monday night.
"I don't want to put a dampener on it, especially as far as Wales is concerned, because I know how momentous it is in terms of qualification," said Monk.
"I've been living here for 12 years, so I know how big it is.
"But it's important from my perspective, and the club perspective as well, that we put it to bed to ensure we have a fantastic season at Swansea.
"It's great for us that those players have qualified with their countries, because it shows the club in a good light.
"But the rest of the season is about bringing the football they've produced for their countries to Swansea."
Williams and Sigurdsson were both named in UEFA's European Qualifiers All-Star XI and only Bayern Munich, with three, had more representatives than Swansea.
"To get into the selected XI is all credit to them," said Monk.
"They deserve it and all the international players have been excellent.
"It shows the progress we've made and it's where we want to be heading towards.
"They were focused on doing well for their countries and now it's about doing well for Swansea and taking that form into the summer."
Swansea failed to win any of their five games after the September international break, drawing two and losing two of their league games while also being knocked out of the Capital One Cup by Championship club Hull.
They dropped to 11th in the table after those results but Monk was happier with the display in their last fixture, a 2-2 draw at home to Tottenham.
"It was by no means a perfect performance, but we were more like ourselves against a very good team," said Monk.
"We need to get to a level where we are consistently performing and we did that exceptionally well last season.
"We have a key period in our season now, and the couple of extra days' preparation for Stoke because of the Monday night date is good."
