Yaya Toure is in line to win a record fifth successive African Footballer of the Year award after being named in a 10-man shortlist that also includes Sadio Mane and Andre Ayew.
Manchester City midfielder Toure is the favourite to hold on to the crown after leading the Ivory Coast to their first African Cup of Nations title in 23 years in February.
Swansea's Ghanaian winger Ayew and Southampton's Senegalese forward Mane are also recognised for their impressive form this year.
Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah is also included on the list. The former Chelsea player has been impressive for both Juventus and Roma this year.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also in contention having finished runner-up to Toure in the last two years. The Borussia Dortmund striker has already scored 13 times in the Bundesliga this season.
The list is made up by Valencia duo Aymen Abdennour and Sofiane Feghouli, Paris Saint-Germain's Serge Aurier, Yacine Brahimi of Porto and Mudather Eltaib Ibrahim 'Karika' of El Hilal in Saudi Arabia.
The winner will be decided by Africa's national team coaches and announced on January 7 at a ceremony in Abuja, Nigeria.
