Bournemouth are closing in on a deal for Juan Iturbe after talks between the Roma forward and Watford stalled, Sky sources understand.
On Monday, Iturbe held discussions with Watford officials and underwent a medical ahead of a potential loan move to Vicarage Road.
However, Sky sources understand Watford withdrew their interest when Bournemouth stated their intention to sign the 22-year-old, refusing to participate in a bidding war.
Sky sources understand Bournemouth are close to agreeing a £1.1m fee with Roma to sign Iturbe on loan for the remainder of the season.
As part of the deal, they will have the option to make Iturbe's move to the Vitality Stadium permanent in the summer for £16m.
