Mauricio Pochettino refused to get carried away despite seeing his Tottenham side earn a third win in a row in a 3-0 success at Norwich.
Spurs controlled the encounter at Carrow Road right from the off, after Dele Alli gave the visitors the lead with less than two minutes on the clock.
A double from Kane made sure of a three points that sees Spurs leapfrog Arsenal to move up to third in the table, but despite being just five points behind leaders Leicester, Pochettino refused to be drawn on whether Spurs can maintain their title challenge until the end of the season.
"I am very happy," Pochettino said. "It was a very good performance and an important three points for us. It was important to score early on, and we dominated from that moment.
"The first half was fantastic, and we deserved to score more goals than we did, but obviously in football that is often difficult.
"We showed great maturity in the second half. Sometimes it is not always about scoring goals. It is about keeping shape and staying strong, and that is what we did.
"I have repeated it many times, the table does not matter at this stage. Before the last game, we will look and try and get higher.
"We can still improve, work very hard, and look to get another three points next match."
Pochettino also refused to lavish praise on Kane, who has scored 14 goals in his last 15 Premier League appearances - this after scoring just three in 17.
"Harry is still very young, and had big potential to improve," Pochettino added. "We are happy with him, he is happy here. He can only get better."
Pochettino confirmed that Alli was taken off at half-time after complaining of feeling dizzy moments before the second half.
"At half-time he felt unwell and was a little bit dizzy so we took the decision on the advice of the doctor to make the change," added the Spurs boss.
"It was in the last few minutes before we left the changing room so we quickly needed to make a change, but now he is okay.
"We will need to assess him tomorrow, but I cannot guess for the future - only that it is important that he is much better."
