Football fan Steve Ladgrove is unlikely to forget his trip to Villa Park after he travelled over 10,500 miles - only to see his club thrashed by Liverpool on Sunday.
The Australian had shared his excitement at watching the Premier League club in action for only the second time on Twitter ahead of the game after arriving from Melbourne.
"Excited for my second ever @AVFCOfficial game today. Hopefully makes the 25 hour flight from Australia worth it!" he tweeted.
Villa responded with a pre-game message to Steve on their official Twitter account, saying they hoped it would be "trip to remember".
They were not wrong as Jurgen Klopp's men ran in six goals to hand the Premier League's bottom club their worst home defeat in 81 years.
Steve, whose message had over 5,000 retweets, still appeared to enjoy his epic away day despite his pre-match hopes of a "sneaky win" not materialising.
"Good banter between fans. Thanks for all the retweets and likes and banter. Good stuff," he tweeted.
Steve's next trip to Villa Park might be to watch a Championship game as Sunday's defeat leaves Remi Garde's side eight points from safety.
