Leicester assistant manager Craig Shakespeare and head of recruitment Steve Walsh have signed new contracts until the summer of 2018, Sky sources understand.

Manager Claudio Ranieri said earlier this year that he was keen for the club to agree new deals with the two men, who have been instrumental in the club's rise up the leagues and this season's Premier League title triumph.

Sky sources reported back in March that the pair had agreed new terms, with their original contracts expiring in June, and vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha confirmed earlier this month that they were close to being signed.

Negotiations have been ongoing for over three months and those new contracts have now been signed in a major boost for the club.

Both men have been at Leicester since November 2011 and have been widely praised for their work. Sky sources understand their new, improved contracts reflect that success.
