Kyle Walker says his time at Tottenham has been a huge part of his life but he still has some more boxes to tick

Kyle Walker believes Vincent Janssen can lift the pressure off Tottenham striker Harry Kane in their bid for Premier League glory this season.

Kane has netted just once this season but is expected to lead the line when Spurs welcome Sunderland on Super Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1 HD.

Meanwhile Janssen is yet to open his account, having come off the bench in four of his five appearances this season - the 22-year-old's only start coming against Crystal Palace in August.

The Dutchman featured alongside Kane in that 1-0 win over Palace, and Walker is confident the attacking duo can complement one another going forward.

"Harry [Kane] led the line fantastically well last season," Walker exclusively told Sky Sports.

"Obviously Vincent is more of a target man who likes to get his body in there and protect the ball.

"He brings another dimension to our game and it is something we can use, rather than letting Harry go up there all alone and try and dog it out."

Walker insists that Tottenham strengthened well over the summer, with competition for places fiercer than ever following the arrivals of Moussa Sissoko, Victor Wanyama and Kevin N'Koudou in addition to Janssen.

"If you look at the squad now, it's fantastic. It's very healthy with cover in all positions," Walker added.

"It's something that keeps us on our toes because there's always people snapping at your ankles who want to get your shirt if you're in the starting XI."

Tottenham's title bid faltered in the closing stages of last season and resulted in Mauricio Pochettino's side being pipped to second by Arsenal.

A third-placed finish brought with it Champions League football and though Tottenham's European campaign started with a loss to Monaco, Walker denied the tournament would hinder their league ambitions.

"It's a great thing to be involved in. You don't mind breaking your week up with the Champions League, it's fantastic in that sense," said Walker.

"We've played in Europe for a good three or four years now and we're capable of doing two games a week.

"We've not won as much as I wanted to but last season we got the Champions League and it was a tick in the box I wanted, hopefully I can tick a few more.

"There's always the top six - Liverpool, both Manchester clubs, Chelsea and Arsenal [and Spurs] - so it's going to be fantastic and obviously Leicester are still not out of it.

"You never know what can happen in a Premier League season as what happened with last season. Hopefully we can be there or there abouts at the end."
