Hull left-back Andrew Robertson has been ruled out for up to eight weeks after suffering a calf injury during Saturday's defeat at Bournemouth.
As a result of the setback, 22-year-old is set to be on the sidelines for Scotland's big World Cup Qualifier against England at Wembley on November 11.
The Hull website reported on Monday: "Andy Robertson is likely to be sidelined for up to eight weeks with the injury sustained against Bournemouth at the weekend.
"The Scottish international damaged his calf during the second half of the defeat at the Vitality Stadium, with subsequent scans showing that the left back is set for a spell on the sidelines."
Robertson has been capped 12 times by Scotland since making his debut in 2014 and has been a regular member of the Hull defence since signing from Dundee United ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.
His absence will be a blow to Hull, who made a solid start to the Premier League campaign but have slipped to 16th in the table after Saturday's 6-1 hammering.
And Robertson will miss several crucial Premier League games which could define his team's season, with Hull facing Stoke, Watford, Southampton, Sunderland, West Brom, Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace inside the next two months.
He wrote on Instagram: "Looks like I'll be a supporter for the next few weeks! Hopefully the lads can kick on and I'll be back in no time."
The former Queen's Park man performed well in Scotland's 1-1 draw with Lithuania on October 8 but was replaced by Celtic's Kieran Tierney for the subsequent 3-0 defeat in Slovakia.
